MSL Property Care Services (MSL), based in Yorkshire, is one of the leading Facilities Management companies in the UK providing the full range of out-sourced property care services to a host of businesses in different market sectors including The British Heart Foundation, William Hill, Caffè Nero, pets at home, Wren Kitchens and Specsavers. The business has been growing rapidly and wants to continue the rate of growth.

MSL wanted to update its look and feel in the marketplace and highlight the quality of both its people and its technology as part of their overall sales story - targeting both their internal and external audiences.


Initially discussion took place around updating their “story” in corporate brochure form. After consideration it was agreed it was more effective to develop a short, 90-second animation that would bring together all aspects of what they do as a business in a distinctive and engaging style.

Once this was created, The Other Person proposed that it should be used as the focus for a highly-original and precisely targeted direct mail campaign to help target new business; that would also be adapted for employees to help communicate the next phase of the business growth plan for MSL and what it would mean for all involved.

An integrated communications plan was developed around the new animated video story which used the various visual assets – all with a very distinctive “vintage tech” look and feel created for the animation – in different media and mailing formats ranging from direct mail, through advertising and internal signage, to the company website. This campaign marked the “launch” of the 2019 business expansion plan.
